Our Mission

The Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual fundraising event which aims to improve our learning environment and to service our long term partnership with the charitable organisation, Civic Force/APAD Japan.

It is our mission to create a compassionate and charitable community spirit, within which our entire school – from students to their parents and siblings, to teachers and staff members to the school board – unite.

History

The Cherry Blossom Fair has been held at the TIS campus for many years. Each year, the food tastes more delicious and the spirit is stronger. The day is one that parents, teachers, staff and students all come together as one body. It is a celebration of Sakura, of our school and of our community.

Behind the scenes, the students and the Fair coordinators unite to make the day extraordinary. The students are involved in the marketing, the sales and the over all logistical set-up, operations and break down of the fair. For them, it is not just one day of fun, but months of thoughtfulness and preparation.

The Fair coordinators are liaising with the school community, the teachers & staff, the board members and the Tokyo community (just to name a few!) raising donations, collaborating on how our funds are allocated and the planning of the fair, itself.

The Fair attracts visitors from all over the Greater-Tokyo area and we expect to host nearly three thousand visitors again in 2018.
